decoding an art style

I’ve been doing a lot of photoshop lately for our upcoming game LordsPlay.com - spending days and night to figureout what art-style we need! Today, I bumped into something very cool and awesome – a video, which inspired me to build our art around it. I think I found what I was looking for, finally!

 

Detroit, the soul city!

I've seen half the world – the rest is on my bucket list. Very few places surprise me, entice me, seduce and make me fall i love with them. The first city I ever fell in love was Paris, but I couldn't see myself work there. Its too distracting, too much love happening there. Is too romantic…

The second city I ever fell in love was New York. New York, will always have a special place in my heart – it'll always remain my favorite city. The city of dreams and hope. New York is the city where GameKarmic was born. 

I've been visiting US for over a decade now – never really visited Detroit (and never wanted to). But when I set my foot here, I fell in love with this city. There is magic here – I can feel the pain, the suffering and above all, I've met some amazing people here. This is a city which has seen the highs, absolute power and money – but also has seen the worst. This city moves me, and I've fallen in love. People always run from pain, suffering and draught. But when people hit rock bottom, the only way they can move is up – same with any city or country. Suffering brings innovation.

I am here to change this city, rebuild it. We are going to bring fun and games to this city – and I will be the one to lead the fight! This is my goal for 2011.

2 people can be a startup & still make money?

Can 2 people make a startup – me & my co-founder Srini argued about this a lot. He seems to think we can, I on the other hand am a little more uptight (read suit boy). I imagine a large reception, private offices and a platinum credit card :) I didn't think I could move my ass – but that has changed since a year when the burning starts, and bills start mounting like a stack of files in a Government office
